Jack Conklin was ruled out for the Cleveland Browns against the Detroit Lions with an elbow injury

Injuries continue to hold back the Cleveland Browns offensive line, particularly at the tackle spots. For a third straight week, veteran tackle Jack Conklin was ruled out by Cleveland as he continues nursing an elbow injury he suffered during practice back in Week 2 of the season.

The 31-year-old practiced in a limited capacity leading up to Week 4 and was listed as questionable heading into the weekend. He ultimately was ruled unable to go, though.

His absence comes after the Browns lost 2023 fourth-round pick Dawand Jones for the season due to a knee injury. Cornelius Lucas and KT Leveston will start at the tackle spots for Cleveland against the Detroit Lions.

Conklin was the only player whose status for kickoff was in question at the conclusion of the week of practice. Cleveland also ruled out defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. on Friday, who will miss his fourth straight game.

As part of the team's inactives, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will serve as the team's emergency third quarterback for a fourth straight week. Meanwhile, second-year guard Zak Zinter will be active for the first time this season.

The team's full list of inactives includes:

    QB Sheduer Sanders (emergency QB)

    S Damontae Kazee

    CB Cameron Mitchell

    RB Raheim Sanders

    DT Mike Hall Jr.

    T Thayer Munford Jr.

    T Jack Conklin

Meanwhile, the Lions received some positive injury news along their offensive line as starting left tackle Taylor Decker was officially announced as active for the game. He entered the weekend as questionable due to a shoulder injury and didn't practice all week.

He'll have the tall task of trying to limit the damage from Browns star pass rusher Myles Garrett for much of Sunday's matchup. Garrett has four sacks this season. Cleveland has 11 as a team, tied for second in the NFL with the Lions.

Detroit's full list of inactives includes:

    RB Sione Vaki

    LB Zach Cunningham

    C Kingsley Eguakun

    DL Chris Smith

    DL Mekhi Wingo
