Key Cleveland Browns defensive starters return to practice just in time this week as a pivotal clash with the Baltimore Ravens, while reinforcements in the backfield offer hope for an ailing offense.

An ominous injury report loomed large over the Cleveland Browns this week, in the lead up to a massive showdown with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The team's end-of-week injury report provided some optimism regarding the outlook of several key players.

The defensive duo of Mason Graham and Carson Schwesinger both returned to the practice field for the first time this week, on Friday. They both share a questionable game status heading into the weekend, but it's certainly a step in the right direction toward both suiting up against Baltimore.

Graham has been dealing with knee and ankle ailments dating back to Cleveland's Thursday night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. The injuries kept him out of commission for last week's loss to the New York Jets, but could be poised to make a critical return.

As for Schwesinger, he was seen leaving the locker room in New York in a walking boot and has been nursing an ankle injury this week. The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year dealt with a similar situation last season, where he didn't practice the first two days of the week, then was limited for a Friday practice and wound up playing against the Jets two days later.

Joining Graham and Schwesinger as questionable is star running back Quinshon Judkins, who has also been battling an ankle injury this week. He too returned to practice on Friday after missing the previous two days.

Fellow running back Dylan Sampson has also been ramping things up after an IR stint this week. Sampson was limited on Thursday and Friday, but was ruled out.

If the Browns can't get Judkins back, their running back room would feature two backs who weren't with the team during training camp in Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime, who was signed this week.

DE Derek Barnett, who is dealing with an ankle injury, is also listed as questionable.

Two active players were officially ruled out in DT Mike Hall Jr (ankle) and G Teven Jenkins, who has missed each of the first five weeks of the season due to a back injury.

DT Kalia Davis has been ruled out, as well. He spent the first four weeks on the IR, then had his 21-day practice window opened last week, but has only practiced once since then. Similarly, Dillon Gabriel has practiced every day since returning to practice off the IR ahead of Week 5, but also won't be activated this week.
