Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry just got blasted amid NFL Draft speculation.

The Cleveland Browns were one of the worst teams in football once again this past season, but unfortunately, they won too many games to get too high of a draft pick.

The Browns will be selecting sixth overall in the NFL Draft next month, which is still nice, but takes them out of the running for the very top talents in this year's class (and there aren't many of them).

Rumor has it that Cleveland may be zeroing in on Georgia Bulldogs offensive tackle Monroe Freeling, who had a tremendous showing at the Scouting Combine and is now considered by some to be the best tackle in his group.

The Browns have made some moves to address their putrid offensive line this offseason, but they still need a left tackle, and Freeling could end up being the pick.

Well, ESPN's Aaron Goldhammer doesn't appear to be a fan of the possibility and went on a rant blasting general manager Andrew Berry amid the speculation.

"Why do I think, though, that the Browns are going to outsmart themselves and do something weird with who they think the best offensive tackle in this draft is?" Goldhammer said.

When co-host Emmett Golden said that Cleveland tends to think it is smarter than everyone else, Goldhammer exploded.

"Then let me be the one right now to tell Andrew Berry: judging by your record and the fact that you've been here for seven years and don't have a franchise quarterback on the roster, and you guys came together an orchestrated the worst trade in the history of sports, you are not smarter than everybody," Goldhammer said.

The Browns have made a couple of playoff appearances since Berry took over as general manager in 2020, but for the most part, Berry's run in Cleveland's front office has been a significant disappointment, especially the last couple of years.

"Actually, the moves that you've made, judging by your track record, you are dumber than everybody else," Goldhammer concluded.

To be fair, Berry has actually been a decent drafter. That's one area in which he has generally excelled as Browns GM, so Cleveland fans do have a reason to trust him to make the right pick.

Is that Freeling or someone else? We'll find out next month.
