Cleveland Browns star Jared Verse sent a warning to the Pittsburgh Steelers after taking them down this week.
The Cleveland Browns were able to pick up a massive win over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers this week, moving to 3-1 on the new season.
Cleveland was able to do just enough to withstand the Steelers at home, sending their rivals back to 2-2. The Browns now have control of the AFC North, at least for right now, with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals playing this weekend.
But the Browns have now won three straight games, with this win over Pittsburgh capping it off. Cleveland played well on both sides of the ball against the Steelers, with the offense again showing signs of life.
In front of the loyal Browns' fans, Cleveland showed why the coaching staff has been talking so highly about this group. But the job isn't done, and this win against the Steelers will now put more pressure on Cleveland to keep playing well.
After the game ended, Browns star defensive end Jared Verse called out the Steelers, saying that the team played dirty. Verse also said that he is very excited to see Pittsburgh again, with the defender looking forward to the matchup
The Browns and Steelers will play each other in Pittsburgh during Week 8, giving each side a chance to make a statement. If Cleveland can get the win, it would solidify them in the rivalry, sweeping the season series.
Pittsburgh will be looking to even up the series, getting some revenge for the loss this week. But Verse and the entire Browns team should be fired up, especially after they were able to take down the Steelers at home.
Verse recorded one tackle in the win over the Steelers, but his presence has been felt for this Browns defense all year long. Cleveland got Verse in the deal that sent Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, and he has played very well so far.
Cleveland has to be feeling good about themselves following this win, and anytime the team can pick up a division victory, it can be huge. The Browns believe that they can compete for the AFC North this season, and so far, this team has the feel of a group that will be in the race until the end of the year.
There weren't many people who believed that the Browns could compete for the playoffs this year, but so far, this team is proving everyone wrong. Cleveland will try to keep things going next week when they head out on the road to face the New York Jets.
