Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has been subject to trade rumors of late.
The Cleveland Browns fell to the New York Jets over the weekend, seeing their record drop down to 3-2 on the season.
While the game resulted in a loss, the Browns can take some lessons from it, looking ahead to the rest of the year. But Cleveland has also been subject to some trade rumors as well of late, with the team potentially looking to be active this year.
As the trade deadline approaches, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy's name has continued to come up in different rumors. Jeudy has completely fallen out of the game plan for the Browns, with the veteran only catching eight passes for 81 yards this season.
Jeudy has fallen behind the rookie wideouts on the Browns roster, and the team is now looking to move him. NFL analyst Carter Bahns of CBS Sports looked ahead to the upcoming trade deadline around the league, listing players who could be moved.
Within this, Jeudy was mentioned as a possible trade candidate for the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the Browns likely looking to trade Jeudy before the deadline, Las Vegas does feel like a strong landing spot for the veteran. Las Vegas has gotten off to a decent start this season, opening the year at 3-2.
But this team could use another wide receiver to bolster the unit, giving quarterback Kirk Cousins more to work with. Jeudy could be the veteran presence that this group needs to help get them going more so, and the Browns could get some future draft capital for him.
While Jeudy hasn't been in the game plan this year, he isn't that far removed from having a 1,000-yard season for Cleveland. Jeudy could be one of the more desired wide receiver options on the trade market this year, which could benefit the Browns.
If Cleveland could somehow generate a bidding war for the veteran, it could get them more in return for the wide receiver. Jeudy can still make an impact for a team, especially one where the passing game is so crucial, like Las Vegas.
The Browns will be looking to move on from Jeudy no matter how the next few weeks go for the team, and the Raiders do make a lot of sense. Cleveland may be able to land some quality assets for the wideout this year, and the front office should take advantage of the situation fully.
