The Cleveland Browns are just 2-7 on the season and suffered a brutal 27-20 loss to the New York Jets this past Sunday, and fans are getting fed up.
Can you blame them? The Browns went just 3-14 last season, and the franchise has made a mere two playoff appearances since 2003.
Cleveland's ineptitude has resulted in head coach Kevin Stefanski being on the hot seat, and now in his sixth year with the Browns, some wonder if it's the end of the road for him.
Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky feels that Stefanski is actually a good coach and would make plenty of sense for another team that just opened up its head-coaching job: the New York Giants.
“The number one name that I would pay attention to, if I were the Giants, is what happens in Cleveland with Kevin Stefanski?" Orlovsky said. "If I could hand pick a guy, it would be Stefanski. He’s an outstanding coach, two time coach of the year. I understand people in Cleveland are like, ‘This guy can’t coach.’ There’s a lot of empirical data that would say otherwise."

It's genuinely hard to blame Stefanski for what's happened over the last two years, although he surely had a hand in putting this roster together along with general manager Andrew Berry.
Perhaps what Stefanski needs is a very good GM to field a competitive group for him, and then Stefanski can take care of the rest.
Of course, the question is whether or not Cleveland will actually part ways with Stefanski after the season. If it does, it would also almost surely spell the end for Berry.
The Browns own a pair of first-round draft picks in 2026, so it will be interesting to see if owner Jimmy Haslam allows the current regime to make those selections.
One thing is for sure: Stefanski would definitely have an impressive young quarterback in Jaxson Dart to work with if he did head to to New York.
Cleveland will face the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday.
