Browns' Myles Garrett Receives Stellar Title From NFL Analyst cover image

The Browns are terrible, but Myles Garrett is incredible.

One NFL analyst believes Browns star Myles Garrett is the top player in the league at his position.

Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report named Garrett the best EDGE in the NFL.

Garrett has 11.0 sacks, 24 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hits on the season.

"Myles Garrett remains the NFL's most feared defender, because no one has his combination of size, strength, athleticism and explosiveness," Sobleski wrote. "Garrett is currently tied for the league-lead with 11 sacks. He even posted a five-sack performance against the NFL's best team, the New England Patriots, based on current records.

"The 29-year-old veteran also holds the outright lead with 17 tackles for loss. The defensive end's excellence isn't fully appreciated, because the Browns are 2-7 this season and 5-23 since the start of January last year. However, everyone around the league certainly knows what the four-time first-team All-Pro brings to the table.

"At this point, Garrett has to be seriously questioning his decision to sign a contract extension in Cleveland after demanding a trade. He could have received a similar deal elsewhere, while playing for a much better squad. Instead, he'll dominate, continue his career arc toward the Pro Football Hall of Fame and do so while being surrounded by organizational incompetence."

It's unfortunate that Garrett plays for the Browns, who will miss the playoffs again this season. Football fans deserve to see a future Hall of Famer like Garrett on a winning team and competing for the Super Bowl.

Garrett requested a trade from the Browns in February. One month later, Cleveland signed the defensive end to a four-year extension that averages $40 million per year and includes $123 million guaranteed.

Garrett is under contract with the Browns for the next six seasons. He has a no-trade clause in his new deal, which includes $100 million in the first three years, $1 million in yearly workout bonuses and $88.8 million in execution guarantees.

Many people around the NFL believe Garrett should request a trade this offseason again and actually get traded this time. He's wasting his career in Cleveland.
