The Cleveland Browns have been linked to a Pro Bowler to boost their offense.

The Cleveland Browns have actually made some nice moves to boost their offensive line this offseason, swinging a trade for Tytus Howard and signing Elgton Jenkins.

However, the Browns still have a pretty big hole at left tackle, and while they could address that need in the NFL Draft, they might look to add a proven veteran.

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has named Cleveland a top fit for free-agent tackle Taylor Decker, who was granted his release from the Detroit Lions earlier this month.

"Decker may be entering the back end of his career, but he's still a starting-caliber left tackle and has been for some time," Knox wrote. "Decker has started 140 games across 10 seasons and was ranked 41st overall among all tackles by Pro Football Focus in 2025. ... While the rebuilding Cleveland Browns would be less enticing to Decker, they also have major question marks at left tackle."

The question is, would the Browns actually want to pay Decker what he wants?

The Lions apparently asked Decker — who was due to make $18.2 million in 2026 — to take a pay cut, which he refused.

Clearly, the 32-year-old still feels he is worth significant money considering he is two seasons removed from a Pro Bowl appearance, and Spotrac is projecting him to land a two-year, $42.6 million contract.

That seems a bit steep for Decker.

While Decker remains a solid player, he was only decent in 2025, managing a 67.9 overall grade at Pro Football Focus. That was quite the dropoff from 2024, when the veteran posted a 77.0 overall grade.

Currently, Cleveland has Dawand Jones on the left side, but the Browns would surely like to upgrade from him. Not only has his production been erratic, but he has also been ravaged by injuries over his first few NFL seasons.

Cleveland has been linked to numerous tackles in the draft, and most recently, speculation has heavily connected the team to Georgia's Monroe Freeling.

But perhaps the Browns would prefer to add someone like Decker and use the No. 6 overall pick on a wide receiver? I just think Cleveland would balk at Decker's price tag.

We'll see what happens in the coming weeks.
