The Cleveland Browns are being predicted to make a rather surprising NFL Draft decision.

The Cleveland Browns own the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and the general consensus is that they will either be taking wide receiver Carnell Tate or an offensive tackle with the selection.

As far as the tackle position is concerned, most have had Georgia's Monroe Freeling, Utah's Spencer Fano and Miami's Francis Mauigoa as the three most likely players to go to the Browns with their top draft choice.

But could Cleveland throw us a curveball?

Alabama's Kadyn Proctor — who had previously been viewed as a mid first-round selection, possibly going as late as the 20s — has suddenly been gaining steam as we inch closer and closer to the draft, and now, the Browns are being tabbed as a potential fit for him.

In fact, Bleacher Report's most recent mock draft has Cleveland selecting Proctor with its first-round pick.

Proctor is definitely a compelling prospect.

He stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 352 pounds, giving him beyond elite size for the position. However, some have questioned whether or not Proctor has the tools to stay as a tackle on the professional level.

While Proctor's massive size and fantastic strength obviously give him terrific potential, his inconsistency has been an issue, and he is perceived as a classic boom-or-bust pick with the draft on tap next week.

To be fair, Freeling had been viewed as a second-round pick until his tremendous showing at the Scouting Combine, so there is risk involved there, too.

But up until very recently, Proctor was not held in such high esteem. Some have even pitched the idea of him moving to guard once he reaches the NFL.

The Browns absolutely need a tackle, but would they risk the No. 6 pick on Proctor? It's definitely a pressing question for general manager Andrew Berry.

That's especially considering Tate could be sitting there. Cleveland is in dire need of a wide receiver, and Tate is the consensus top wide out in this year's class.

It should also be noted that the Browns possess a pair of first-round draft choices, as they will also be picking at No. 24. That will surely affect how Cleveland approaches its decision at No. 6.

We'll see if Proctor ends up being a legitimate option for the Browns.
