Only the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders were ranked lower than the Browns.
Cleveland's skill players on offense are Quinshon Judkins, Harold Fannin, KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston and Jerry Jeudy.
The Browns named Deshaun Watson the starting QB this week.
"For a growing team that’s a few years away from contending, they’re in a good spot," FOX Sports wrote. "They have loaded up on young, talented and promising skill players. They got a small look at a better future last season with the emergence of RB Quinshon Judkins and TE Harold Fannin. And they have since added first-round WR KC Concepcion and second-round WR Denzel Boston.
"Add in enigmatic veteran wideout Jerry Jeudy and there’s a lot of talent — albeit mostly raw — for whomever is behind center. But the Browns' plan is really more about the future because all of these players — except for Jeudy — are short on production but long on potential. That’s better for winning games down the line than right now."
The Browns averaged 16.4 points per game last season. That was 31st in the NFL. In Year 1 of the Todd Monken era, Cleveland hopes to have a more dynamic offense.
With Watson under center, though, the odds of that happening are very, very low.
Of the 50 quarterbacks with at least 15 starts since Watson joined the Browns in 2022, only Will Levis has a lower QBR. The odds of Watson turning back the clock after an Achilles tear are pretty low, which is why many NFL pundits believe Cleveland should have started Shedeur Sanders so the team could fully evaluate him for an entire season.
Watson has 3,365 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns with Cleveland. He's thrown 12 interceptions.
Many Cleveland fans wanted Sanders to start because Watson has been horrendous since being traded to the Browns. He also dealt with off-the-field stuff, as more than two dozen women accused him of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct during massage sessions.
Fannin led the Browns last season in receiving yards (731), receptions (72) and receiving touchdowns (6). Let's see how the TE does in Year 2 with Watson and Monken.
