Jared Verse had some words for Pittsburgh, even after the loss for the Browns.

The Cleveland Browns fell short in their quest to sweep the season series from the Pittsburgh Steelers this year.

After taking down the Steelers earlier in the season, Cleveland lost to Pittsburgh over the weekend on the road. From the opening kickoff, the Steelers looked like the better team, overpowering the Browns at almost every turn.

The final score came in at 27-6, with the Browns performing poorly on both ends of the field in the game. Cleveland now owns a record of 5-3 on the season, with this loss stinging very much.

Entering the contest, there was a lot of talk around Browns star pass rusher Jared Verse, due to his comments weeks ago about Pittsburgh. Verse said that the Steelers' offensive linemen were "dirty" and that he couldn't wait to get his hands on them again.

But in the loss to the Steelers, Verse was very quiet, registering one combined tackle and one quarterback hit in the game. Pittsburgh made it a point to keep him out of the box score, and the team took aim at his previous comments.

Multiple members of the Steelers discussed Verse, with safety Jaquon Brisker calling him out for not backing up his words. But Verse didn't fully engage back, while still responding to the comments from the rivals.

Verse said that he stands by everything that he says, and that he believes the team didn't present itself well in the game. The performance from the Browns was a surprising one, especially given how well the team had played in recent weeks.

The two sides won't see each other again this year, unless they were to meet in the playoffs, which would bring out an entirely different set of fireworks. Verse will need to step up his production going forward, giving the Browns more from a player that the team was high on this season.

Cleveland will now look ahead to. next week, when they head out on the road against the New Orleans Saints. The Browns still have a lot to play for the rest of the season, with the team needing to bounce back from the loss.

This team will have to find a way to be more physical going forward, especially in its remaining divisional games. With how strong the AFC North is this season, the Browns can't afford to keep dropping games like this.
