Browns Will Be Very Shorthanded vs Bears cover image

It's going to be tough for the Cleveland Browns to beat the Chicago Bears.

Not only is it going to be freezing in Chicago during the Bears-Cleveland Browns game, but Cleveland will also be very shorthanded.

The Browns will be without four starters against the Bears: CB Denzel Ward (calf), TE David Njoku (knee) and offensive linemen Wyatt Teller (calf) and Jack Conklin (concussion).

The Browns are 3-10. They will miss the playoffs again this season and have a high pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Will Cleveland use a first round pick on a QB again? It all depends on how Shedeur Sanders finishes the season.

The Browns have a pair of first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. Many people around the league believe the franchise will target a QB if Sanders doesn't play at a high level to close out the 2025 season.

Sanders had his best game as a pro against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14. He went 23-42 through the air for 364 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

The Colorado product also had 29 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

Sanders is the first Browns QB with three passing touchdowns and a rushing TD in a game since Derek Anderson in Week 6 of the 2007 season.

The Browns have four games left in the regular season. They face the Bears, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals.

Sanders has 769 passing yards, five passing touchdowns and three interceptions on the season. He's completing 52.4% of his passes.

"He has constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games and how he's approached this game," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said about Sanders. "He's been working very hard, so I feel good about where his development is heading. He knows there are always going to be plays that he can be better and those type of things. But he's very intentional about getting better each and every game he's out there."

The Bears' defense leads the NFL in turnovers, so Sanders must protect the ball on Sunday for the Browns to pull off the upset.
