Cleveland Browns Urged to Make Depressing WR Trade cover image

The Cleveland Browns are being pressed to trade one of their top offensive weapons.

When the Cleveland Browns acquired wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in a trade with the Denver Broncos in 2024, they were hoping the former first-round pick would blossom in a new environment.

That appeared to come to fruition last season, when Jeudy hauled in 90 receptions for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Understandably, there was genuine excitement surrounding Jeudy heading into 2025, but instead, the 26-year-old has been a massive bust this season.

Through 12 games, Jeudy has managed just 35 catches for 421 yards and a score, and while the Browns' quarterback situation certainly has a whole lot to do with Jeudy's lack of production, it's not like Cleveland had an elite signal-caller last year, either.

Ernesto Cova of Browns Nation has seen enough of the University of Alabama product and feels that Cleveland should seriously consider moving on from him during the offseason.

"Jeudy has all the talent in the world. He was a first-round pick for a reason. However, there were also many reasons why his former team gladly agreed to part ways with him before his rookie deal expired," Cova wrote. "He doesn’t take coaching or criticism well, and he may have been just a one-year wonder for this team. The Browns would be wise to move him and make him someone else’s problem."

Cleveland signed Jeudy to a three-year, $52.5 million contract extension upon acquiring him, keeping him under wraps through 2027.

Jeudy is making $17.5 million in average annual salary, which definitely isn't overwhelming. Obviously, he has not lived up to that salary in 2025, but perhaps playing for a contender somewhere else would do Jeudy some good.

The Browns may be able to squeeze some draft capital out of a receiver-needy team in exchange for the Deerfield Beach, Fl. native, although they probably wouldn't be able to get more than a fourth-round pick and maybe another late Day 3 selection.

Maybe there would be a team out there willing to part with a third-round selection, but based on Jeudy's lack of production this year, that seems relatively unlikely.
