Denzel Boston is shattering Cleveland Browns' franchise records and outperforming fellow rookies, posting yardage totals that rival the early career marks of superstars like Ja'Marr Chase and Ceedee Lamb

The Cleveland Browns appear to have hit a home run with rookie WR Denzel Boston.

Through four games, the Washington product, who Cleveland selected in the second round of the NFL Draft, is the team's leading receiver in terms of yards with 284. He's done that on 13 receptions and has two touchdowns as well, which came in each of the first two games of his career.

It's a torrid start for the Washington product as those numbers put him at the top of his class for yards and touchdowns. He also finds himself, historically, among some elite company in terms of his peers at the position.

Boston ranks 7th among all rookie pass catchers since 2020 in terms of total receiving yards through his first four games in the league. That puts him ahead of young names like Tetairoa McMillan of the Carolina Panthers, Emeka Egbuka of the Tamp Bay Buccaneers and Zay Flowers of the Baltimore Ravens.

He comes in just behind the likes of star wideouts like Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals and CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys. During that same window of years, Boston also ranks 39th in receptions, third in yards per reception (21.8) and 16th in EPA per target.

To take it a step further, if you expand it out to 2000, Boston remains positioned among some of the NFL's best receivers through their first four NFL games. Boston's receiving yard total ranks 20th during that span. He remains in the top 10 for yards per reception at sixth overall. He's 109th in receptions and 68th in EPA per target.

He remains among elite company on that list with notable players like Deion Branch, A.J. Green, Desean Jackson, Julio Jones and Andre Johnson all appearing in the top 20 with Boston.

In terms of how he stacks up with other Browns rookie pass-catchers during that same span, Boston leads them all in yards, coming in more than 100 yards ahead of Cleveland's rookie WR in 2002 Andre Davis (186 yards), 2009 rookie WR Mohamed Massaquoi (179) and 2016 rookie WR Corey Coleman (173).

He also tops the list in terms of yards per reception, comes in sixth for EPA per target and seventh in receptions. His teammates, Harold Fannin Jr. (2025) and fellow rookie KC Concepcion, top that list with 17 catches through their first four career games.

Obviously, four games don't make a career, but if this opening stretch of his are any indication, the Browns' second-round pick is headed for a fruitful one to say the least.

Cleveland has never has a player win Offensive Rookie of the Year, but Boston could be on his way to becoming the first player in franchise history to take home the honor.
