Do the Cleveland Browns have any future Hall of Famers on the roster?
ESPN senior NFL writer Bill Barnwell went through each of the league's 32 teams and attempted to identify the players who are either on track or have a realistic chance of making the Hall of Fame one day.
For the Cleveland Browns, Barnwell put LB Carson Schwesinger, Edge Jared Verse and CB Denzel Ward in the "work to do" category.
"While Myles Garrett has already done enough to earn enshrinement, Verse -- who came to Cleveland in the Garrett trade this summer -- is years of high play and a leveling up away from matching that," Barnwell wrote. "Starting his career with two Pro Bowl appearances and a Defensive Rookie of the Year award is of course good for his case.
"Schwesinger succeeded Verse as Defensive Rookie of the Year, and while off-ball linebackers can struggle to rack up the sort of stats that draw attention from voters, the 2025 second-rounder managed 2.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss in his debut season."
Verse won the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year award with the Los Angeles Rams. He enters this season with 12.0 sacks, 71 solo tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 45 QB hits.
Schwesinger won the 2025 Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He appeared in 16 games for the Browns and finished with 2.5 sacks, 67 solo tackles, 11 tackles for loss and nine QB hits.
Finally, Ward enters next season with 18 career interceptions. The Browns signed him to a two-year, $62.2 million deal at the end of July. The $31.1 million annual average value makes Ward the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history for the second time in his career.
Ward's 104 career passes defensed are the most by any player in the NFL since 2018 and he is one of just five active players with at least 100 career passes defensed.
Ward is also first in career passes defended by a Brown. He has started 107 of 110 games over his NFL career and earned five Pro Bowl selections, including three consecutive selections since 2023.
