How did Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders play against the San Francisco 49ers?

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders made his first home start on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers and it was a rough outing for the rookie.

Sanders went 16 of 25 through the air for 149 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked three times and had to come out of the game briefly after getting hurt.

The Browns lost to the 49ers by a final score of 26-8 and NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave Sanders the following grade for his outing: C.

"Sanders impressed during his first start," Sobleski wrote. "He didn't in his second. The fifth-round rookie does add a vertical element to the Browns offense, which Gabriel didn't. At the same time, Cleveland's current starter needs to speed up his internal clock and hit a few more throws to keep drives alive.

"In the end, the entire setup is built on the Browns making a decision after this season, which may or may not include either of Cleveland's rookie quarterbacks. Grade: C."

The Browns will start Sanders next week again against the Tennessee Titans. Sanders is expected to start the rest of the season.

"Obviously we lost, so I ain't play well," Sanders said after the Browns lost to the 49ers. "There's definitely things on film I'm going to look back and want to get back and want to see but at least moving forward I know what we could do differently going about the week and being able to get fully, fully prepared for every possibility."

Sanders has 405 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and two interceptions on the season. He's completing only 50.8% of his passes.

"This team is not going to be a microwave thing," Sanders said. "We're going to have sparks here and there, but it's going to take time to be able to develop that chemistry with everybody, to be on the same page with [wide receiver] Jerry [Jeudy].

"Of course you want to be able to get him the ball, but you got to understand it takes time. I'm more of a trust person, and that's just what it boils down to. So, we have to spend time on task with all those guys and be able to trust and be able to see things at the same lens."

Let's see how Sanders plays next week against the Titans, who have only one win on the season.
