As Myles Garrett trade rumors rage on, one NFL insider thinks the Cleveland Browns biggest star isn't going anywhere

Ever since Andrew Berry executed some curious contract maneuvering with Myles Garrett, rumors haven't stopped swirling over the possibility that the Cleveland Browns could be looking to trade the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.

The move saw Berry change the due date of an option bonus in Garrett's contract to a week before the 2026 season starts. It saves the Browns no money in the immediate future, but it does lower the potential dead cap hit if they were to trade Garrett after June 1. Such a decision would see Cleveland account for $44 million in dead money this upcoming season and $24.9 million in 2027.

Curious as it all may seem, one NFL insider is staunchly pushing back on the idea that Garrett is getting traded. ESPN's Dan Graziano explained why on Monday's episode of Get Up.

"The Browns have been steadfast and adamant that they have no interest in trading Myles Garrett, even last year when he was publicly asking for a trade, they said that, gave him a new contract," said Graziano. "I think it's more likely that Myles Garrett gets another contract bump from the Browns this offseason than gets traded."

For what it's worth, Berry tried to reaffirm the team's stance on Garrett at the league's annual meetings last month. Asked if he could unequivocally say the team wasn't looking to trade Garrett, the Browns GM went on to call the future Hall of Famer a "career Brown."

Still, the answer left something to be desired as Berry avoided saying, undoubtedly that they wouldn't move the team's star player. That approach left the topic a bit open-ended to the point where it continues to be a discussion.

Graziano is slamming the door on the conversation, though, and believes the team will do the exact opposite of trading him. When Garrett signed his contract extension last March it made him the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL annually.

That crown has since been overtaken by a handful of other players, including fellow pass rushers T.J. Watt of the Steelers and Micah Parsons of the Cowboys, as well as Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase and now Seahawks wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Time will tell if Graziano's prediction proves to be true. Regardless, the conversation doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. Garrett's absence from the start of the offseason program, particularly with a new head coach taking over in Todd Monken, only adds more fuel to the speculation fire. Granted, it's pretty normal for Garrett to stay away this time of year.
