One of the rookies from the Cleveland Browns has been doing very well so far this season.
The Cleveland Browns are off to an excellent start this year, opening the season with a record of 3-1.
After a very poor performance in Week 1 of the season, there weren't many who saw the Browns' turnaround coming. Cleveland was dominated in every sense of the word against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but over the last three weeks, this team has come together.
The Browns have been able to take advantage of a more favorable schedule, but in the NFL, a win is a win. Cleveland hasn't had much to cheer about in recent years, so at this point, the fans will take what they can get.
But the Browns also have been able to put together strong play on both sides of the ball, showing a well-rounded approach to the game. Cleveland has had a strong defense for years, but the offense has finally decided to do its part.
Part of this has been due to the additions that the Browns made over the offseason, with some even being rookies. But rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston has been playing very well so far for Cleveland through the first four games, making his presence known.
So far, Boston has recorded 13 catches for 284 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Cleveland offense be much smoother. Boston, the Browns' second-round pick, was expected to help this team out this season, but he has already exceeded expectations.
In fact, Boston's play has been highlighted by more than just his stats, with the rookie wideout even earning a high grade from Pro Football Focus. Boston's performance this season has earned him the second-highest grade among qualified rookies in the NFL, coming in at 77.0.
Boston is the highest ranked offensive player on the list, showing out for this Browns team. The rookie has also not dropped a pass in the NFL so far, showing strong hands in his game.
If Boston can continue to perform at this level, the Browns will have gotten a steal in the second-round of the draft. Boston is currently seen as the top wide receiver in the Cleveland offensive attack, giving this unit a massive boost each week.
Rookies can come in to make a direct impact, and Boston has done that and more for this Cleveland team. But as the season goes on, he will need to adjust to how opposing defenses adjust to him.
If he can do that, the sky is the limit for what Boston can do in his career.
