Cleveland Browns rookie KC Concepcion is immensely talented.
NFL analyst Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report broke down the outlook for Cleveland Browns rookie KC Concepcion heading into training camp.
Knox sees Concepcion competing at slot WR.
"Concepcion will likely have the inside track due to draft status, but his competition with Isaiah Bond should be one of the more intriguing training camp storylines," Knox wrote.
Concepcion had 61 catches last college football season, totaling 919 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns. He is projected to be a legitimate vertical threat for the Browns next season.
The Browns selected Concepcion with the 24th overall pick in this year's draft out of Texas A&M.
Concepcion joins a receiving group in Cleveland that features Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman, as well as young players such as Isaiah Bond, Luke Floriea and Gage Larvadain.
The Browns also signed Tylan Wallace in free agency, tendered Jamari Thrash and signed Isaiah Wooden to a reserve/futures contract in January.
"We're going to be a special offense," Concepcion said. "Everybody has a different strength. So I just feel like if we can all put it together, we will definitely be an expolsive offense."
We'll see who Concepcion is catching passes from next season. It will be Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders.
New Cleveland head coach Todd Monken is high on Concepcion. He sees a lot of Zay Flowers in the rookie.
Monken coached Flowers on the Baltimore Ravens.
"There are some traits that are similar to (Flowers)," Monken said, via NFL.com. "But I love when people spoke about KC, it reminded me of Zay in that, in terms of how he practiced, what he brings in every day. And if you're looking for that comparison, that I can compare, I believe he's going to bring that like Zay did."
Browns GM Andrew Berry added: "I do think there are some similarities [to Flowers] in terms of movement skills, the twitch. Honestly, some of the questions regarding the hands coming out, I think the one thing that maybe gets a little bit lost is KC is a much bigger player than Zay, but I think there is some overlap in the characteristics. If we get a player who's comparable to Zay Flowers when we're sitting here from three years, we'll be elated."
It will be fascinating to see how many games the Browns win next season. The team will probably miss the playoffs after trading superstar Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.
