Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders' home was recently broken into while he took the field for the first time in an NFL regular season game.

It’s been quite the eventful 2025 for Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and now a new wrinkle has been added to it as we’re soon to cap off the calendar year.

Sanders has been the center of the football universe ever since he announced his declaration for the NFL Draft, and was even more front and center when team after team would pass on him.

But now, even after a moment that was supposed to be remembered with fondness, it’s instantly met with brutal memories.

Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel was ruled out of last night’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens with a concussion, opening the door for Sanders to make his NFL debut.

It wasn’t a great performance from Sanders, completing only four-out-of-16 passes for 47 yards and an interception. But either way, a kid’s debut stands alone, no matter how they do.

However, as he took the NFL gridiron for the first time in his career, his house was being broken into.

“The details are still being gathered, but we’re told (per multiple sources) that there was a break-in at Sanders’s home. Stay tuned for more. It’s unclear at this point whether anything was taken, and no potential suspects have been identified.”

It seems to be a never-ending saga of athletes getting their homes broken into. From Luka Doncic and Joe Burrow last season to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce just this past October,

Sanders, the son of NFL Hall of Famer, and current coach of the Big 12’s Colorado Buffaloes currently holds the all-time record in college football in completion percentage, with a staggering 71.8% rate.

Last season, he also led all of the FBS with a 74% completion rate, and led the Big 12 with 4,134 passing yards and 37 passing touchdowns.

Many believed that Sanders was a projected top-10 draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but certain reports came out that he underwhelmed in pre-draft interviews, and even rubbed some coaches the wrong way.

That ultimately led to him getting drafted by the Browns in the fifth round with the 144th pick.

This story is still developing.
