The debates are on over what the Cleveland Browns will do with the No. 6 overall pick in next month's NFL Draft. Two prominent needs stand out on offense at left tackle and wide receiver, and the legwork continues over the course of the next month for Cleveland to figure out their strategy.
With the Browns holding two first-round picks, there's a real opportunity to inject some immediate talent into this roster, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
In the weeks leading up to the main event, teams are permitted to host up to 30 prospects on a "top 30" visit. This is an opportunity for each club to test prospects in a more personalized way, while getting to know them even better as both football players and people.
In some instances, those visits can serve as insightful indicators of what players or positions a team is considering targeting, particularly early in the draft.
It's an inexact science, though, as there are still plenty of players selected by teams they never visited. In some instances, the Browns have held separate, private workouts with players they really like and have then selected those players. QB Dillon Gabriel is an example of that, as the Browns brass revealed after he was selected last April.
For what it's worth, the Browns have allocated a lot of their top 30 visits on wide receivers, which could speak to just how serious they are about addressing that area of the roster.
Here's the known/reported list of top 30 visits:
Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson
Alabama QB Ty Simpson
Ohio State WR Carnell Tate
Miami OT Markel Bell
Oklahoma EDGE R Mason Thomas
Indiana WR Omar Cooper
Toledo S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Louisville WR Chris Bell
Washington WR Denzel Boston
USC WR Makai Lemon
Alabama WR Germie Bernard
*This list will continue to be updated as more visits come to light or are reported*
