Browns' Myles Garrett Puts Record-Setting Moment in Perspective on Tonight Show cover image

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett reflected on setting the NFL sack record

Myles Garrett put together one of the greatest seasons in NFL history in 2025, breaking the league's single-season sack record.

Of course, after closing in on the feat for several weeks, Garrett wound up needing all 17 games to get there, which made for some fun end-of-season drama.

Finally, late in the fourth quarter of the Cleveland Browns season finale with the Cincinnati Bengals, he got it done, sacking his long-time counterpart Joe Burrow to become the new sack king with 23 of them in one season.

And while the Browns' season certainly didn't go the way Garrett or fans had hoped, the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year is still basking in the joy of his unforgettable moment.

Garrett even made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about his historic season. When asked about setting the record, the 30-year-old brought some incredible perspective to how it felt.

"There's no better feeling in the world," Garrett said, before playing to the crowd a bit. "I mean, other than this, this has been great."

On Thursday, Garrett is likely to win his second AP Defensive Player of the Year Award, immortalizing his historic campaign. The former No. 1 overall pick constantly emphasizes that his ultimate goal is still to win a Super Bowl, though.

If he's able to hoist a Lombardi before his career comes to an end, it's safe to assume he'd probably put that moment ahead of his sack record glory. In the meantime, though, what he accomplished in 2025 was easily the greatest feat of his career so far.

At one point, Fallon pointed out just how close Garrett was to not breaking the record as he remained stuck on 22 heading into the fourth quarter in Week 17, and asked if he was worried. Garrett reaffirmed that he did not doubt that he'd pull it off. At one point, he even joked that if he hadn't done it this year, he would have broken it eventually.

The five-time first-team All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler seemed to have a lot of fun during his Tonight Show appearance. At one point, he even tried to teach Fallon how to properly sack the quarterback using a tackling dummy.
