During an up-and-down rookie campaign, Shedeur Sanders still left his Cleveland Browns teammates impressed, including veteran DT Shelby Harris

Shedeur Sanders' rookie campaign with the Cleveland Browns was far from perfect. That's pretty normal for a player trying to get acclimated to life in the NFL.

Still, the fifth-round pick impressed plenty of his Browns teammates across eight appearances and seven starts down the home stretch of the season. One of them is veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris, who raved about Sanders' play during a recent appearance on Wake Up Barstool

"He's prepared for every moment that you put in front of him," Harris said. "And I think that's one of the most impressive things, is he truly does not falter at any step of the way. So that's something that you don't really see in a rookie."

Harris wasn't done, though, with his praise of the Colorado product. There was something else he noticed about the way the offense played under Sanders' command versus some of the other QBs who started for Cleveland in 2025.

"One thing that we loved, playing behind him as a defense is that he wasn't afraid to take some shots," added Harris. "Early in the season for us, it was a lot of dink and dunk and Shedeur has no problem airing it out downfield to try and make a play ... And that right there can get you years in this league because a lot of young players are afraid to make a mistake."

To Harris' point, Sanders was totally fearless when it came to trying to make something happen for a Browns offense that was second worst in scoring. It's a good quality to have, but also one that can get quarterbacks in trouble at times if they take too many risks.

In his first season, Sanders completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. The latter figure is one he'll look to cut down on as he tries to find more consistency in year two, with a new coach in Todd Monken.

It has yet to be seen how Monken will shape his QB room, but considering their first interaction captured the Browns' new head man confirming that Baltimore, where Monken was last year, wanted to draft him, there appears to be a real desire to work with the young signal-caller.
