If one blocked kick is a surprise, then three blocked kicks feel like an epidemic.

On Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, in a highly anticipated matchup of 3-0 teams, the Philadelphia Eagles deflated the mood on the Bucs' first possession.

Backup tight end Cameron Latu burst up the middle and swallowed Riley Dixon's punt. The Eagles' Sydney Brown took the deflection off the bounce and ran 35 yards for an opening score.

With 2 minutes, 9 seconds gone, Philly led 7-0.

The special-teams score was the Eagles' second in as many kicks. A week ago, they finished off a comeback victory against the Los Angeles Rams with Jordan Davis' blocked field goal attempt and 50-yard return for a game-ending touchdown.

The Bucs are suffering through a less desirable streak: three consecutive games with a blocked kick, leading to 17 opponent points.

    Week 2 at Houston

The Texans blocked a Dixon punt and recovered at the Tampa Bay 45. Houston cashed in on the turnover with a field goal.

    Week 3 vs. the Jets

The Bucs led New York 26-20 and lined up for a game-clinching field goal. Instead, the Jets blocked Chase McLaughlin's kick and returned it for a stunning touchdown and a momentary 27-26 lead.

Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield and the offense rescued a win for the third consecutive game.
