Buccaneers eye Rams' Super Bowl winner and Falcons' offensive architect, Zac Robinson, for their vacant coordinator role.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator search is in full swing, and Zac Robinson is now on the list of guys who have interviewed.

Robinson has spent most of his coaching career with the Los Angeles Rams, who he helped lead to a Super Bowl win as the assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021.

After that season, he was promoted to primary quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator, where he helped Puca Nacua become an All-Pro receiver as a rookie in 2023.

This led to Robinson getting his first offensive coordinator job with the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons' offense in 2024 improved from 18.9 points per game the year before to 22.9 ppg. But this season, the Falcons regressed to 20.8 ppg and finished 8-9, which led to coach Raheem Morris being fired.

As the team searches for Morris' replacement, Robinson's job is in limbo.

In Robinson's offense, Bijan Robinson greatly improved in 2024, rushing for 1,456 yards compared to 976 in 2023. The Falcons also had a 1,000-yard receiver in 2024, with Drake London going for 1,271, and Darnell Mooney falling just short at 992. The Falcons were one of 10 teams in 2024 to have a 1,000-yard rusher and receiver.

Had Mooney reached 1,000 yards, Atlanta would have had two 1,000-yard receivers and a 1,000-yard rusher.

London would have likely cracked 1,000 yards again this season had he played more than 12 games. Even with the limited sample, London still posted 919 yards.

This production from Atlanta's skill players speaks well of Robinson, but what doesn't speak well is that Atlanta only finished 13th in scoring in 2024 and this year regressed to 24th.

Atlanta was 20th in the league in red-zone efficiency in 2024, and although they were in the top 10 this season, that stat was negated by Atlanta falling from sixth to 14th in total yards per game, fifth to 19th in passing yards per game, and 13th to 24th in points per game.

Robinson also lacks the experience that other candidates, such as Mike McDaniel and Brian Callahan, have for this job. Two of Tampa's last three coordinators have become NFL head coaches, so the job has its appeal on Robinson's side.
