The first injury report for Week 6 shows several Bucs still trying to get healthy.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally got their first win of the season last Thursday by going on the road and upsetting the Dallas Cowboys.

The victory gave hope to Tampa’s season. Even after all of the struggles and disappointing performances through the first four weeks, the Bucs are only 1.5 games behind the 2-2 Carolina Panthers for first place in the NFC South.

There is still a lot of work to do to get back into the race, but Tampa has three winnable games upcoming, giving the Bucs a good chance to go on a run.

The win over the Cowboys if the Bucs can’t build on it and start stacking victories.

In Week 6, Tampa takes on the 3-2 Pittsburgh Steelers at Raymond James Stadium. The Bucs are 2.5-point underdogs at home and must find a way to slow down Aaron Rodgers, who has thrown three touchdown passes in each of his last three games.

Both the Bucs and the Steelers are a bit banged up and have key players hoping to recover in time for Sunday’s contest.

Bucs Injury Report

The most important name on the report remains quarterback Baker Mayfield. After the win over Dallas, head coach Todd Bowles was quick to announce that Jalon Daniels would likely earn one more start.

Mayfield didn’t practice on Wednesday, still recovering from the dislocated thumb he suffered in Week 3.

Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a rib injury. Though he hasn’t been placed on IR, Winfield almost certainly won’t be playing this week.

Running back Sean Tucker didn’t practice with a quad injury. Rookie CB Ayden Garnes didn’t practice with an ankle injury. WR Chris Godwin also didn’t practice, but he was getting a veteran rest day.

Linebacker SirVocea Dennis practiced in a limited capacity as he attempts to return from ankle and foot injuries that kept him out of the game against Dallas.

CB Benjamin Morrison was also a limited participant. He has missed two straight games with a quad injury. With his extensive injury history, expect the Bucs to take things very slowly with Morrison.

Star left tackle Tristan Wirfs was a full participant on Wednesday, though he was wearing a brace on his right knee after it got rolled up against Dallas.

WR David Sills V got in a full practice as his 21-day activation window from his hamstring injury continues.

Steelers Injury Report

The Steelers also have someone in the midst of a 21-day window. Starting safety DeShon Elliott was a limited participant due to his knee injury.

WRs Roman Wilson (finger) and Ben Skowronek (calf) were unable to practice. Neither were DT Keeanu Benton (ankle) nor star CB Jalen Ramsey (wrist).

Starting CB and former Buc, Jamel Dean, was limited by an ankle injury. RB Rico Dowdle was also limited with his toe injury.

Superstar OLB T.J. Watt was limited, but it was just an easy day of rest. DT Cam Heyward was also given a rest day, but he had a full day off.
