Armed with Baker Mayfield’s resurgence, a revamped receiving corps featuring rookie sensation Emeka Egbuka, and Zac Robinson’s scheme, Tampa Bay’s explosive arsenal is primed for a statistical breakout.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense has the talent to be one of the more solid units in the National Football League.

They ranked 21st in total offense last year, averaging 320.4 yards per game and scoring 41 touchdowns during the regular season. They barely missed the playoffs due to a few factors such as divisional competition.

This year, the Bucs offense can be top 10 in the NFL, and it starts with quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield threw for 3,693 yards and 26 touchdowns to 11 interceptions last year. One of his best games was in Week five against the eventual Super Bowl champion, the Seattle Seahawks. In that game, Mayfield threw for 379 yards and two touchdowns, with fewer than five incompletions (4).

The Buccaneers went 8-9 in 2025, but with new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, they can even be better. Despite losing wide receiver Mike Evans in free agency, Tampa Bay still has a lot of great weapons for Mayfield.

Emeka Egbuka was one of the best rookie wide receivers in the league last year, catching 63 passes for 938 yards and six touchdowns. Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan (1,014) is the only rookie to have more yards than Egbuka.

The Bucs added to their youth by drafting Georgia State wide receiver Ted Hurst in the third round. Hurst had 61 receptions for 870 yards and six touchdowns as a senior last year. Hurst is a 6'4 wideout who can go up and get the tough catches. Hurst can be a direct replacement for Mike Evans. Similar to Evans, Hurst can be a red-zone threat and a key target for Mayfield.

Can't forget about Chris Godwin Jr., or Jalen McMillan either. Godwin Jr., a versatile do-it-all type of player, has been a staple in the offense. His veteran leadership will be an asset even more so going forward. McMillan will need to step it up too, given the absence of Evans. That can create more opportunities for the third-year receiver.

For the Bucs offense to be in the top 10 in 2026, the running game needs to improve. The Buccaneers had the 16th-best yards per game last year with 114.5. It's not great but it's alright.

Some of their running backs were sidelined due to injuries last year. Bucky Irving missed seven games earlier in the season due to foot and shoulder issues. He returned in Week 13, but injured his shoulder, shutting him down for the season. If he's healthy, the run game can be better.

They also had a lot of injuries to the offensive line like right guard Cody Mauch, whose season ended due to a knee injury in Week two. More players on the offensive line like Tristan Wirfs, Michael Jordan,  Luke Goedeke, and Ben Bredeson dealt with injuries as well. That was a considerable factor in some of their average offensive play.

It's more about getting players back from injury and the offensive line being stable. If they have that, then they can be among the league's best. The Bucs will have to be as good as or better, than teams like the Seahawks and Patriots.
