From a high-motor linebacker to an experienced long-snapper, Tampa Bay bolsters its roster depth as standout tryout players earn their spots following a competitive rookie minicamp.
As rookie camp kicked off, all of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' new faces and tryout hopefuls hit the field for their first taste of NFL action.
After originally signing an additional 17 players as UDFAs following the draft, the Bucs added four new signees at rookie minicamp, as FOX Sports Contributor Greg Auman reported.
Tarleton State linebacker Yasir Holmes was the first announced signing, joining Tampa after recording eight sacks and 13 tackles for loss last season.
Holmes began his career at DII Frostburg State, earning All-MEC First Team honors in 2024.
He joins second round pick Josiah Trotter and the UDFA pair of NC State ILB Caden Fordham and Nebraska ILB Javin Wright as the new additions to the linebacking room.
The second known signing came on the offensive side of the football, as running back Kadarius Calloway joined the ranks following Holmes.
Calloway last played for New Mexico State, recording 438 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
The former standout high school safety originally committed to Alabama, but transitioned to community college as a running back before the 2021 season.
He previously made stops at Cal, East Mississippi CC, and Old Dominion.
Calloway's best statistical season came with the Monarchs, in 2023, rushing for 623 yards.
While the Bucs' top three RBs are likely set, with Bucky Irving, Sean Tucker, and Kenneth Gainwell getting most of the workload, Calloway can compete for the RB4 spot on the depth chart.
Like Holmes, WR Dean Patterson, the Bucs' third rookie camp tryout signing, started his career at a DII school before rising up the ranks.
After redshirting with Findlay due to COVID, Patterson made the jump to D1, signing with FIU.
In his four seasons with the Panthers, Patterson hauled in 98 passes for 1,406 yards and eight touchdowns.
In 2024, Patterson earned Second-Team All-Conference USA honors, catching 50 passes for 685 yards and seven touchdowns.
In his final collegiate season, Patterson transferred to Georgia Tech, adding eight receptions for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Patterson, a Steinbrenner High graduate, returns to his home state to compete in a young, deep WR room.
The final reported signing from rookie minicamp is veteran long-snapper Scott Daly, who has served as primary long snapper for the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.
After signing Daly, the Bucs announced they had waived rookie snapper Wesley Brown, who was signed as an UDFA.
Daly will compete with two-year starter Evan Deckers for the starting position.
