After a dominant rookie campaign and the departure of Mike Evans, Tampa Bay’s rising star is poised to dominate targets and transform into a premier NFL playmaker.
Pro Football Focus and others came out with the 2026 NFL All-Breakout team list for the upcoming season for both offense and defense.
One of the players who was on the list for the offense was Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Ebbuka.
In his rookie season in 2025, Egbuka caught 63 passes for 938 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games. Egbuka was a focal point of the offense, being the number-one wide receiver for the Buccaneers, getting 126 targets.
He really started to break out in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, catching four passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. Tampa Bay lost that game 25-31, but a good game for Egbuka. He followed that up with another great performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, totaling 7 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown, with a 38-35 win.
Ekbuka concluded his rookie season with an Offensive Rookie of the Month recognition for September and also as a finalist for the 2025 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Ekbuka was drafted by the Buccaneers with the 19th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ohio State.
With former Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans gone to the San Francisco 49ers, Egbuka has more of an opportunity to be the main target for quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Who else was on the All-Breakout list on offense
A few of the other players listed on the All-Breakout Team on offense for 2026 were Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward, who threw for 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns to seven interceptions in his rookie season last year, solidifying himself as the Titans' franchise quarterback.
Also, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden, who had an okay rookie season, caught 29 passes for 361 yards. Golden did deal with some injuries, such as a wrist and shoulder injury.
Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty made the list also. Jeanty was the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Jeanty did well in his rookie season, totaling 975 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He was also a finalist for the fan-voted Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Year Award.
Other notable players on the list were Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr., Cincinnati Bengals offensive Tackle Amarius Mims, Seattle Seahawks guard Grey Zabel, New England Patriots center Jared Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers guard Mason McCormick, and New Orleans Saints tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
