The Arizona Cardinals are now 3-8 going into Tampa Bay to play the 6-5 Bucs on Sunday at noon. Even though this game means absolutely nothing to the Cardinals, they hope to get better and show how much grit they truly have.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the exact opposite, hoping to get out a slump and take back control of the NFC South.
Baker Mayfield is officially listed as questionable after suffering a left shoulder (AC Joint) sprain during last week's loss. In Friday's report Mayfield was a full participant in practice after being limited all week.
If Baker Mayfield is not able to play, which seems to be a game time decision, then veteran backup Teddy Bridgewater will start in his absence.
Do not let the Arizona Cardinals record fool you, the Cardinals have been competitors in most games. This will not be a walk in the park for the Bucs if they cannot play a mistake free game.
If the Bucs confidence is rattled from the rough loss last week, Arizona could take advantage and make this a way more competitive game than it should be.
With Jacoby Brissett as the starter the Arizona Cardinals average 256.3 passing yards/game, compared to roughly 170.2 passing yards/game under Kyler Murray as a starter. Points per game even have gone from 18.8 to 25.7 since Brissett has taken over.
So even though the record is not great and this is a nothing game to the Cardinals, they can still use this game to build around Jacoby Brissett who for looks to be the starter come next year.
