The Arizona Cardinals brought back a familiar face at the quarterback position but he likely won't see the field anytime soon.

The Arizona Cardinals have placed star quarterback Kyler Murray on the teams injured reserve list.  This forces Murray to miss the next four games due to the NFL protocols.

With the injury of Kyler Murray, the Cardinals went out and brought in a familiar face. Jeff Driskel has been signed to the practice squad going into Week 10 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

The hometown "hero," born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Kevon Slovis, has been named the backup to Brissett at number two spot in Kyler Murray's absence. Random fact about Slovis is, he was coached by hall of famer Kurt Warner in high school. Say's a ton about how was mentored growing up.

Covid shortened Slovis season while he played at USC. His freshman and sophomore years numbers were amazing but in 2021 his numbers dropped and USC was not as dominate. He played at Pittsburgh University his junior year and finished his college career at BYU where he had multiple injuries.

Slovis career dipping as college years went on and adding injuries to that list, left him going undrafted 2024. Signed with a practice squad spot to Arizona in 2025 which than elevated to a backup role when Murray got injured.

When Murray was recovering from ACL surgery the Cardinals brought in and signed Jeff Driskel to the practice squad. Driskel being very familiar with the style of play and intentions within the ballclub.

Driskel started his career being drafted by the San Fransico 49ers in 2016. Since than he has played for six different NFL teams, Arizona being stop number seven.

Since Jacoby Brissett has taken the helm, the Arizona Cardinals offense has been explosive to say the least. Arizona is averaging 350 yards and 26 points per game.

With Arizona going into Seattle this will be the best defense they have faced all season, Brissett has gone into every game as the underdog and continues that trend this Week 10 matchup.

There have been a ton of rumors going around about Kyler Murrays future and how bad is the foot injury really. Will Murray think about baseball as a future in this year's MLB draft? Can we possibly see a departure of Kyler Murray in Arizona? A ton of questions around what is happening on the inside at Cardinals offices.
