The Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Kyler Murray has been officially ruled out for the season and has been out since week Week 5. Will the Cardinals trade Murray or give it another go next season? My opinion is that he should definitely be traded to get trade capitol.
Arizona was 2-3 with Kyler Murray at the helm this season and still I believe he should be considered a trading piece, here is why. Murray threw for 962 yards with six passing touchdowns with three interceptions but with the offense relying on his legs.
It is to be noted that the first two games of the season that Murray won were against the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers, neither team has put together a respectable season.
Since Jacoby Brissett has taken the helm the Cardinals offense has had more of an identity. Brissett also broke the NFL record for passing completions in a game with 47 in a single regular-season game. In that loss to the 49ers Brissett threw for 452 yards and 2 touchdowns as well as the record breaking 47 completions.
Brissett has thrown for 2,188 yards, 13 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions with a 68-percent completion percentage.
Jacoby Brissett did go into Dallas on Monday Night Football and come out on top with a 27-17 victory.
The offense under Brissett has completed more passing yards and scoring consistency than under Murray.
In Brissett's first three starts he threw for 860 yards with six touchdowns and only one interception, averaging a better offensive output than Murray.
Brissett's completion percentage of 68-percent ranks high amongst starters in the NFL, showing he has better pocket presence/decision making skills than Murray.
With Jacoby Brissett under the helm, the Cardinals passing game has an identity. Showing promise to the future as long as they build an offensive line around him in the draft.
A Kyler Murray trade could give the organization a good amount of draft capitol to build the offensive line around Brissett, as well as healthy defensive players.
