The Arizona Cardinals have not improved in the last three years and fans are asking some wild questions. Should Kyler Murray remain as starting Quarterback? Does the team have the right coaching staff? All understandable questions when the results have not been great for the organization for quiet some time.
The Cardinals only have one game left on the season and are sitting at a disappointing 3-13.
Coach Gannon is in his third year as head coach, in his first year (2023) the Cardinals won only four games.
Gannon's second year the team saw slight improvement with eight wins that year and almost made the playoffs.
Now in Jonathan Gannon's third year and the Cardinals could possibly match his first year with four wins, but either way another failed season. Over the three years as head coach, Gannon has a record of 15-31 overall.
Coach Gannon has not fully had an opportunity to build "his" team yet. When Gannon came into the Cardinals job Murray was already there and set as the quarterback of the franchise.
There were players that were already under contracts, and he had no choice but to keep them on the roster, whether they fit his style or not.
The Gannon defense has shown up plenty of times this year, one particular was on prime time in Dallas. The number of injuries the Arizona Cardinals has had on both sides of the ball is another factor that should be taken into account.
Although Coach Gannon is confident in his job security, the results of this season are one of the franchises lowest win totals since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger.
When it comes to the media and analysts, everyone seems to be divided on Gannon's future.
