The Chargers continue to build out their coaching staff. Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports is reporting that the Bolts are hiring Vanderbilt nickels coach Jimmy Thompson. According to Zenitz, Jimmy Thompson will work with the defensive back group. 

The connections to former defensive coordinator Jesse Minter continue to appear. Minter was defensive coordinator at Vanderbilt when Thompson began working there. Thompson also played for Notre Dame while new defensive coordinator Chris O’Leary was on the staff.
