The Chargers continued adding to their coaching staff on Wednesday by hiring Chris O’Leary as their new defensive coordinator. The news came at the excitement of many defensive members of the Chargers, including Derwin James, Tony Jefferson and Elijah Molden.
O’Leary is no stranger to the Chargers. Prior to his stint as defensive coordinator at the University of Western Michigan, he served as the safeties coach under Jim Harbaugh in 2024. Chris O’Leary will have big shoes to fill as he will look to continue the defensive excellence Jesse Minter built.
