According to multiple reports, former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is seemingly on his way to becoming the new offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers.
He would join head coach Jim Harbaugh is fixing an offense that finished the 2025 regular season ranked:
12th in total offense: 333.8
18th in Passing yards per game: 212.2
12th in rushing yards per game: 121.6
20th in points per game: 21.6
In their playoff game against the New England Patriots, they scored only three points in a 16-3 loss. That marked the third time this season where the Chargers scored 10 points or less (vs. Patriots, Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders).
That presumably aided in the decision to part ways with former play caller Greg Roman.
