Chargers Scouting: Oklahoma WR Isaiah Sategna
Oct 31, 2026 2:00 PM

Is Isaiah Sategna an ideal mid-round selection for the Chargers in the 2027 NFL Draft?

Oklahoma wide receiver Isaiah Satenga III has quietly had a spectacular season, despite the Sooners’ subpar offense. He dominated in their week eight win against Mississippi State and solidified himself as a 2027 NFL Draft target for the Los Angeles Chargers. His elite athleticism, durability, and potential as a route runner make him an intriguing mid-round riser.

Sategna, the five-foot-10, 185-pound redshirt senior, spent three years at Arkansas before transferring to Oklahoma in 2025. He had an amazing first year in Norman, OK, leading them with 66 receptions for 960 yards and eight touchdowns.

Following that, he had another impressive start in 2026, tallying 41 catches, 578 yards, and three touchdowns through seven games. His best performance came last week with eight receptions for 164 yards and one touchdown in a must-win game for Oklahoma.

Sategna is a world-class athlete, which is evident in his twitchiness and deep speed. He leaps off the line of scrimmage, instantly reaching top speed. From there, he glides past defenders. He can stop on a dime and is dangerous with the ball in his hands.

Beyond this, Sategna has never missed a game due to injury. Despite his small frame, he’s durable and can take hits.

Sategna has moments of brilliance as a route runner, where he sinks his hips, makes a cut, and creates ample separation. He understands how to stem defenders and thrives against zone coverage.

Sategna has two big concerns: his frame and consistency as a route runner. He’s undersized and is susceptible to big hits, especially between the hashes. He’s held up well in college, but how will that extend to the NFL, where defenders are bigger, stronger, and faster?

Additionally, he’s flashed outstanding route running, as we’ve established, but not regularly. He’s grown in this area in 2026, but it’s still a concern and something he must develop in the NFL.

The Chargers need a reliable receiver of Sategna’s caliber. Ladd McConkey, Quinten Johnston, and Tre Harris have potential, but have struggled to stay consistent. A mix of injuries, drops, and mediocre play has plagued this offense and left Justin Herbert stranded. They must fix this in 2027 to see any success, and drafting Satenga would help that.

It’s still early, and it’s tough to trust any member of Oklahoma’s offense, but Isaiah Sategna’s athleticism, durability, and potential as a route runner make him a desirable mid-round target. Don’t be surprised to hear his name in Los Angeles next offseason.
