It's never too early for a mock draft.

The NFL’s Week 3 is on the horizon, making it the perfect time for a final preseason three-round 2027 NFL Mock Draft now that there’s more insights into what weaknesses teams have. Here, the Los Angeles Chargers heavily address the defense and add talent at all three levels.

Before we begin, this isn’t a prediction of the 2027 NFL Draft. Plenty will change before April, so it’s irrational to try to guess what the Chargers will do. Instead, this mock is intended to highlight talented players who could resurface next offseason.

Let’s into a three-round Chargers mock draft.

Round One: A’Mauri Washington- DT, Oregon

A’Mauri Washington’s otherworldly athleticism makes him a constant mismatch who dominates against the run and has potential to grow into an impactful pass rusher. The six-foot-three, 325-pound senior pairs staggering strength with a rapid-quick first step that helps him penetrate the backfield instantly. He consistently blows up run plays and excels at shedding blocks. He’s still developing his pass-rush arsenal, but his raw athleticism gives him high upside.

Round Two: Ben Roberts- LB, Texas Tech

Ben Roberts is an instinctual, well-rounded linebacker who’s primed for a breakout campaign in 2026. He’s a turnover machine, tallying four interceptions last year and forcing seven fumbles in his career, and thrives in zone coverage. Additionally, understands his assignments as a run defender and fills his gap, eliminating a lane for the running back. Roberts isn’t a stellar athlete, evident against twitchier tight ends (2025 Oregon game), but he’s not a liability.

Round Three: Elijah Green- CB, Tulsa

This is a projection, but Elijah Green has the frame and athleticism to become a lockdown cornerback in the NFL. The six-foot-two, 195-pound junior has blazing vertical speed, making it challenging for opposing receivers to separate. He’s comfortable in zone coverage and surveys the quarterback's eyes, awaiting an indication. Once Green sees one, he triggers downhill to make a play. His technique is still raw, especially in press coverage, and he falls for double moves too often, but these are teachable.

Round Three: Junior Sherrill- WR, Vanderbilt

Junior Sherrill is a twitchy athlete who’s a constant big-play threat after the catch. The five-foot-11, 200-pound senior rapidly accelerates and expertly uses tempo in his routes to create separation. Once he has the ball, his elite elusiveness and speed are on full display, flying past defenders and breaking tackles in open space. Sherrill doesn't have an expansive route tree and has struggled with concentration drops, but he has the makings of an elite complementary receiver in the NFL.
