The former first-round pick looks likely to land elsewhere in 2026.
Last offseason, the Los Angeles Chargers signed former Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris to a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million. This offseason, the former first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has visited the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and plans to visit the Las Vegas Raiders next week.

In Harris' final season with the Steelers in 2024 before signing with the Chargers, he recorded 30 rushes of 10 or more yards, tied for ninth-most in the NFL, while his nine rushes of at least 20 yards tied for fifth-most. He also proved his physicality, forcing 70 missed tackles (12th in the league) and gaining 838 yards after contact (10th in the NFL), according to Next Gen Stats.
His meeting with the Seahawks is one to monitor, especially after they recently lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to the Kansas City Chiefs at the start of free agency on a three-year deal worth up to $45 million, including $28.7 million fully guaranteed. Seattle has used a tandem of Walker and Zach Charbonnet in recent seasons, and Harris could emerge as part of a new-look backfield.
In terms of his scheduled visit with the Raiders, the team could look to implement a two-back system alongside 2025 sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty. It’s worth noting that Dylan Laube and Chris Collier are the only other running backs currently on the roster in Las Vegas, making a veteran addition like Harris a logical move.
Harris, a former Pro Bowler, was expected to serve a similar role alongside 2025 first-round pick Omarion Hampton in Los Angeles. However, injuries prevented what could have been a dynamic duo.
With Harris entering unrestricted free agency this offseason, Los Angeles wasted no time finding a running mate for Hampton. The Chargers signed former Baltimore Ravens UDFA RB Keaton Mitchell to a two-year, $9.25 million deal, including $5 million guaranteed. Additionally, the team is hoping third-year back and former sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal can build on his career year after posting 643 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 155 carries.
Harris’ next destination will likely hinge on which team can offer the right mix of opportunity, scheme fit and potential for championship contention.
