We’ve already taken a look at some potential trade candidates to address the Los Angeles Chargers’ biggest weakness, but here are some options if the team decides to turn to free agency for help along the interior of the offensive line.
Justin Casterline - Getty ImagesSeumalo, 32, has spent the past three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and just completed his 10th professional campaign. The former Pro Bowler finished the year allowing four sacks and 20 total pressures on 504 pass blocking snaps, while committing zero penalties on 827 total snaps. He appeared in 14 games in 2025, missing three due to a recurring pectoral injury.
The former third-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles spent his first seven seasons in the City of Brotherly Love under the guidance of highly regarded offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, who recently stepped away from coaching.
It’s possible Seumalo will command another multi-year deal in free agency despite his age, thanks to his recent production and versatility—he has experience playing left guard, center and right guard during his time in the league, and he has been serviceable in both pass protection and run blocking throughout his career.
Charles Rex Arbogast - Associated PressEdwards, who turns 29 in March, has spent the past three seasons with the Buffalo Bills after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Rams, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
This past season, Edwards allowed four sacks and 32 total pressures on 679 pass-blocking snaps while committing three penalties. He earned a career-high 75.0 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus in his seventh season.
Expect Edwards to command a multi-year deal in the range of $19 to $20 million annually after posting a 95% pass-block win rate in 2025, ranking 12th among 65 qualifying guards. His experience playing both guard and tackle could prove especially valuable to Los Angeles, whose offensive line was depleted by injuries last season.
Gary McCullough - Associated PressTeller, 31, recently announced via social media that his time with the Cleveland Browns is coming to an end. He is one of the team’s five starting offensive linemen entering free agency this offseason.
The former fifth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills spent the past seven seasons in Cleveland but will be looking for a new home in 2026. This past season, the two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler appeared in 13 games after dealing with ankle and calf injuries, marking his lowest game total since 2020.
He allowed three sacks and 24 total pressures on 488 pass-blocking snaps while posting a career-low 53.1 pass-blocking grade from PFF. However, Teller is still known for his run-blocking ability and could be an ideal fit for the Chargers.
Expect Teller to seek a multi-year deal in the range of $10 to $15 million annually, and with the Chargers’ current cap situation, the team has more than enough room to make a move if they choose.
