Los Angeles Chargers Offensive Line Trade Targets cover image

Los Angeles could look to these three veteran offensive linemen to bolster the trenches.

Without question, the biggest weakness for the Los Angeles Chargers this past season was the inconsistency and injuries along the offensive line. With RT Trey Pipkins (10 starts in 2025), OG Zion Johnson (11), OG Jamaree Salyer (five), OG Trevor Penning (four) and C Andre James (one) all set to hit free agency, establishing stability up front is a must. These three veteran offensive linemen could make sense for the Bolts in a potential trade.

Miami Dolphins C Aaron Brewer

With starting center Bradley Bozeman ranking among the lowest in the league in pass block win rate (31st) and run block win rate (18th), it may be time for an upgrade at one of the offense’s most important positions.

While Aaron Brewer may be considered undersized for a center, he has been exceptional since joining the Dolphins in 2024 free agency. The 28-year-old has allowed just three sacks and 26 total pressures over the past two seasons, posting career highs with an 87.4 overall offensive grade and a 91.5 run-blocking grade in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus. Brewer was named a second-team AP All-Pro and was a finalist for the inaugural Protector of the Year Award this past season.

The former undrafted free agent spent four seasons with the Tennessee Titans before becoming a cornerstone of the Dolphins’ offense. Brewer has since emerged as one of the strongest voices in the locker room and was voted a team captain for the first time in his second season in Miami.

Green Bay Packers C Elgton Jenkins

Another potential option at center is two-time Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins, who not long ago was involved in a contract dispute with the Green Bay front office. He is currently recovering from a season-ending fibula/ankle fracture suffered in the Packers' Week 10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 30-year-old former second-round pick has allowed just nine sacks in seven seasons and has shown rare versatility, playing all five positions along the offensive line throughout his career. However, his $18.5 million salary in 2026, combined with the recent injury, has left his future in Green Bay uncertain—whether via trade or potential release.

He would be a clear upgrade over what the Chargers currently have in the building, though the injury may cause some hesitancy given the wave of setbacks they endured last season.

New Orleans Saints OG Cesar Ruiz

Cesar Ruiz is a former first-round pick who has been a serviceable guard for the Saints after making the move from center, the position he played in college under Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.

The 26-year-old had a down year this past season following a breakout campaign in 2024, ranking 73rd out of 81 guards with a 44.7 run-blocking grade from PFF—an area most consider to be one of his strengths. Ruiz allowed three sacks and 19 total pressures in 2025 after missing three games with an ankle injury, and has surrendered 17 sacks and 131 total pressures over six seasons.

With injuries across the offensive line and three guards who logged starts for the Chargers this season set to hit free agency—along with New Orleans potentially looking to move on from Ruiz—it could make sense for teams to work out a deal.
