The 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs will host the winless Los Angeles Chargers coming off their Week 5 bye but must not take the Chargers lightly.

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their bye week and have rolled to a 4-0 start ahead of hosting the 0-5 Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.

The last time we saw the Chiefs in action, they won a thrilling 30-27 battle over the division rival Las Vegas Raiders to win their fourth straight contest to open the season. Running back Kenneth Walker III has been incredible and finds himself in the Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year races.

Walker took over yet another game against Las Vegas, rushing for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. He averages the most yards per carry (6.2) and is second in rushing yards (537) while playing an important role within the passing game as well. The Super Bowl MVP has 12 receptions for 84 yards and two scores to go with his four on the ground.

He and the Chiefs will look to continue dominating their opponents on the ground but will need to get crafty with their aerial attack without their top receiver Rashee Rice, who was ruled out for today’s game with a knee injury.

Legendary tight end Travis Kelce is lined up to have an increased role against the Chargers and has always inflicted damage against the American Football Conference West foe, so the Patrick Mahomes-Kelce connection should be back on full display – that is, until the Chiefs are blowing the Chargers out and stop throwing the ball as much.

Los Angeles has struggled to move the ball despite bringing in Mike McDaniel to coordinate the offense, a shocking development that very few saw coming. The Chargers’ offensive line is already battered, and star slot receiver Ladd McConkey has dealt with lingering injuries all year long, so it’s been a rough start to the season in LA.

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is among the league leaders in interceptions with seven and isn’t looking like the guy he once was, but that isn’t all his fault. He will be in trouble against a Chiefs defense that is well-rested and loves to pressure the QB.

Kansas City has maintained the reputation of blitzing like no other under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and he should have his unit pressuring Herbert most of the game. Herbert has thrown all his interceptions and has been sacked 17 times when facing a blitz.

The Chiefs' pass rush has struggled over the last couple of seasons but still poses a threat any time they get the call.

Some may perceive this matchup as a trap game for Kansas City, and the Chargers really need to get a win, but I’m having a hard time thinking that the Chargers aren’t going to get blown out.
