Josh Simmons has missed two games as he has been dealing with personal issues, and coach Andy Reid provided an update on the Chiefs star.

Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are starting to resemble the team of old, as they have won three of their last four games after an 0-2 start.

In wins the last two weeks against the Detroit Lions and the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chiefs offense has looked like the 2018 Chiefs. They have been able to do that despite not having first-round draft pick Josh Simmons for those two games.

The rookie from Ohio State has given the Chiefs the left tackle they have been looking for since they drafted Mahomes, but he has been away dealing with personal issues.

The Chiefs haven't given much detail on the matter the past couple of weeks, but Reid on Thursday did provide an update saying things are positive right now.

"My update for you with Josh would be that there is communication," Reid told reporters on Thursday. "I'm not going to get into all of it. Everything is positive, it is not a negative situation. He is taking care of family."

With Simmons out, Jaylon Moore has filled in the last two weeks and has done a very good job. The Chiefs gave him a two-year, $30 million deal in the off-season after he had been a backup to All-Pro tackle Trent Williams in San Francisco.

The fact that Reid gave a positive update is definitely a great sign for Simmons. While his well-being is the most important thing for the Chiefs, the fact their offense hasn't skipped a beat without him is a great sign for the team

His status for the Monday Night Football game against the Washington Commanders is still in doubt, but the Chiefs have shown the last two weeks they are back.

The biggest sign that the offensive line is playing at a high level is the plays that Mahomes is making. He has confidence in the offensive line, and this is allowing him to make the big plays.

The last couple of years he wasn't trusting the group, and he was getting the ball out fast. He has all of his receivers back with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy coming back the last couple of weeks. However, the number one reason why Mahomes is playing at this level is because he has full faith in his offensive line for the first time in years.

Kickoff between the Chiefs and Commanders is scheduled for Monday at 7:15 p.m., and the game will be on ESPN.
