Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker missed two more field goals in Sunday's loss to Seattle, prompting a pointed response from coach Andy Reid.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a growing problem with one of their most dependable players.

Kicker Harrison Butker missed two more field goals in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, continuing a troubling stretch that has prompted concern from coach Andy Reid.

And although Reid has repeatedly expressed confidence in his veteran kicker, he acknowledged after Sunday's game that something needs to change.

"He's been one of the most consistent kickers in football. He's off a bit, so got to fix it," Reid said, according to KMBC.

Butker missed a 58-yard attempt at the end of the first half that would have trimmed Seattle's lead to 10-3. He later connected from 50 yards in the third quarter, accounting for Kansas City's only points.

But with the Chiefs trailing 13-3 in the fourth quarter, Butker pushed a 45-yard attempt wide right. A successful kick would have made it 13-6 with less than nine minutes remaining.

Instead, Seattle maintained its two-possession advantage and eventually handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season.

Butker has now converted just 11 of 16 field-goal attempts this season, a 68.8% success rate.

According to CBS Sports, Butker has missed 15 kicks, including 10 field goals and five extra points, since the beginning of the 2025 season. That's the most in the NFL during that span.

His struggles have been particularly pronounced from long distance. Butker has converted just two of six attempts from 50 yards or longer this season.

Butker acknowledged that something felt wrong before Sunday's game even began.

"Warm-up wasn't great," Butker said. "It's just something that you have to roll with and try to fix it in the game and do the best that you can."

He also offered an explanation for his two misses, saying the 58-yard attempt came up short despite traveling straight toward the uprights.

The fourth-quarter miss was different.

"And then the 40-yarder at the end, you just got to make it," Butker said, according to Arrowhead Pride. "Just pushed it."

The latest misses come one week after Butker missed a field goal and an extra point against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Reid defended his kicker following that game, expressing confidence that Butker would correct the problem.

But after four missed kicks in two games, the issue has become increasingly difficult to dismiss.

And with the team's shortage of reliable receivers becoming another major issue in Sunday's loss, Kansas City has more than one problem to address.

The Chiefs, now 5-1, visit the Denver Broncos next Sunday in an important AFC West matchup.

With Kansas City's offense coming off a historically poor performance against Seattle, the Chiefs can hardly afford to keep leaving points on the field.
