The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to get to the Super Bowl for the fourth consecutive season, and the decision to not go get Breece Hall could end up costing the team when it matters.

When it comes to general managers in the NFL, very few are better than Brett Veach. Yes, the Kansas Chiefs having Patrick Mahomes at quarterback helps a lot, but what Veach has done during the dynasty is as good as there is in the NFL.

Ask any GM across the league, and they all have either moves they made or a move they didn't make that they wish they could do over.

Veach has said one of his biggest regrets was not taking DK Metcalf in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Chiefs instead took Mecole Hardman, who accomplished many things during his time in Kansas City.

However, if the Chiefs fail to reach or make the Super Bowl this season, Veach is going to have to add not doing what was needed to get Breece Hall on the team to that list.

The New York Jets showed that they were willing to make nearly any move on Tuesday, as they sent Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.

Those are two guys who are top 5-7 at their respective positions, and it showed they are looking for the future. Reports had come out that the Jets were asking for a third-round pick for Hall, and for Veach not to do that was just a mistake.

In the Chiefs loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, never has it been more clear what the offense is missing is that game-breaking ability from the running back position. Isiah Pacheco was out with an injury, and Kareem Hunt just doesn't have the explosiveness anymore.

The Chiefs haven't had a home-run threat from the running back position since Hunt was early in his career in Mahomes' first season as a starter.

Hall is currently 12th in the NFL with 581 rushing yards, and he is averaging 5.0 yards per carry. That is without opposing defenses worried at all about the passing game, while also running behind a below average offensive line.

You put him in the Chiefs offense, the possibilities were endless for Hall and the offense. He is also more than capable of making plays in the pass game, as he had 76 and 57 catches in his last two seasons.

It is hard to argue with what Veach has done in Kansas City, because the team was one game away from being the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. However, this was a move that made too much sense for both parties, and it will be one that haunts Veach and Chiefs' fans if the season doesn't end with another championship.
