The Kansas City Chiefs are roughly three weeks away from ensuring they make the right choices in the 2026 NFL Draft.
With the 2026 NFL Draft just weeks away, the football world is waiting to see what the Kansas City Chiefs do with their selections.
The Chiefs have two top-30 picks this year, No. 9 and No. 29. Both selections have a lot of speculation regarding who Kansas City will draft. Early in the offseason, Notre Dame's stud running back Jeremiyah Love was thought to fall to the Chiefs at No. 9, but after landing Seattle Superhawks' RB Kenneth Walker and Love's draft stock rising, Golden J thinks the Tennessee Titans will take him at No. 4.
However, Chico thinks that Love could fall to 15 —sparking a conversation that the RB could realistically go anywhere in the first round, and his incredible talent might not necessarily guarantee that he is a top pick -- it'll come down to each team's needs.
The duo discusses a plethora of options that could happen in the draft, ranging from the Las Vegas Raiders shocking the world by not taking Indiana's quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, with the first overall pick, the Chiefs trading their top-10 pick and much more, and the ripple effects that each move would have. Ultimately, this year's draft is still up in the air for Chiefs fans and there isn't yet much known about who Kansas City will wind up with taking at No. 9.
For a deep dive into the complications of choosing the right player in the draft, be sure to listen to the full podcast. Golden J and Chico talk about the complexities of pairing the best rookie available with the Chiefs as currently constructed, with the implications of all the offseason additions.
Finally, taking a look at some other news aside from the upcoming draft, the Chiefs' owner, Clark Hunt's daughter recently got engaged to the son of a former Kansas City quarterback. Gracie Hunt and Derek Green, son of Trent, took to social media earlier this week to announce the big news. Many Chiefs fans are celebrating the couple online, as the Chiefs' roots are planted deep within the pair.
