On this week's episode of Roundtable's Kansas City Chiefs podcast, Golden J and Chico open the show with the bizzare feeling of the season being over after week 18.
Looking into the teams that did make the playoffs, Chico mentions how strange this years combination of teams that are still playing football in mid January. Not seeing the Chiefs, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals is a weird sight, and begs the question of where the league is headed.
Both Chico and Golden J give predictions for Wild Card Weekend, which you'll need to give the full podcast a listen to so you can hear what the duo thinks will happen across the league.
Golden J brings up the current state of the National Football League, and how players and coaches alike don't have the same loyalty as years prior, specifically the ongoing rumors that Matt Nagy won't be returning to KC.
Golden J looks at the current roster and makes a few arguments toward what the Chiefs should do in the offseason, and who the club should consider moving on from -- while Chico makes a few predictions of his own as well.
The duo also looks at how brutal the season has been for everyone involved with the organization, going from Patrick Mahomes' ACL injury, not making the playoffs for the first time in a decade and finding out that Arrowhead Stadium is going to be relocated for 2031.
As for the new stadium, you'll need to listen to what Chico is requesting from the Hunt family as a goodbye present for season ticket members -- so if Clark Hunt is listening to the podcast, please follow Chico's instructions accordingly.
Looking at last week's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Golden J gives a game recap that Chico wasn't able to partake in, due to the game not being broadcasted for him. It might have been a good thing for Chico, however, because it was a messy game on both sides.
Golden J has a lot of complaints about the refereeing of that game, but ultimately is fine with putting it behind him, as well as the season as a whole.
Wrapping up the show, our duo talks about the excitement for playoff football, and nerves for what Tight End Travis Kelce's retirement announcement will be.
As always, be sure to give the full podcast a listen as well as join Roundtable's Chiefs site to make sure you don't miss anything with the team, join our community, and much more!
