The Kansas City Chiefs have had a very successful offseason, but now must figure out how to get the most out of their No. 9 pick in this year's NFL Draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs are prepared for quarterback Patrick Mahomes to miss some time in the 2026-27 season.

Earlier this week, the Chiefs traded for New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields in an effort to compete with teams in the few weeks that Mahomes could be out as a result of the ACL injury he sustained in December.

Golden J loves the move, and notes that financially it was a great decision for the Chiefs,  but still doesn't understand why the Jets would make this move -- with Chico joking that it's because the franchise found its future QB in reuniting with Geno Smith.

Although Fields won't be Kansas City's franchise quarterback, our duo acknowledges that this is a great opportunity for Fields to develop as a player, learning from both head coach Andy Reid and Mahomes. Taking it a step further, Golden J admits that there are even some things that Fields can do that Mahomes can not.

Overall, the duo is excited to have Fields on the roster and help lead the Chiefs to some wins while Mahomes is out.

Looking into some other offense additions, Golden J and Chico are welcoming Kenneth Walker with open arms -- and are alright with waving goodbye to Isiah Pacheco.

Another departure from the Chiefs offense is Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown, who opted to head to the Philadelphia Eagles after a rocky stint in Kansas City. As for him, the wide receiver is another name that neither Chico or Golden J is upset about. After a lackluster time with the Chiefs, it was time for both sides to move on.

A name that Golden J is still praying the Chiefs bring back, however, is Juju Smith-Schuster -- so hopefully his wish comes true in due time.

Then, taking a look at the upcoming NFL Draft, Golden J raises the question of who Kansas City will draft. For weeks, it was presumed the Chiefs would select Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love at No. 9, but with the addition of Walker, our duo thinks the franchise should go in another direction.

Make sure to listen to the full podcast for an in-depth conversation about who Golden J and Chico think the Chiefs should draft with that No. 9 pick, now that Love might not make the most sense in Kansas City.
