Chiefs rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane missed two consecutive practices with a recurring shoulder injury, leaving his status uncertain for Sunday's game against Denver.

The Kansas City Chiefs could be without one of their most important young defensive players for Sunday's AFC West showdown against the Denver Broncos.

Rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane is officially questionable after missing practice Thursday and Friday with a shoulder injury.

Delane was not listed on Wednesday's injury report, but the concern grew when he missed the team's final two practices of the week.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed Friday that the injury involves the same shoulder that has troubled Delane since the offseason.

"We'll see how he does here going forward," Reid said, according to Pro Football Talk.

The injury is particularly concerning because Delane previously dealt with shoulder problems and missed time earlier in the regular season.

He aggravated the shoulder during Kansas City's Week 1 matchup against Denver and subsequently did not play in Week 2.

Delane has emerged as an important member of Kansas City's secondary since being selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Through the first seven weeks, he has recorded an interception, five passes defended and three tackles for loss.

His potential absence would create another challenge for a Chiefs defense preparing to face a familiar division rival.

Veteran Kristian Fulton could see additional playing time if Delane is unable to suit up Sunday.

Kansas City did receive some encouraging injury news elsewhere on the roster.

Wide receiver Rashee Rice, who missed the previous two games with hamstring and knee injuries, practiced fully Friday and carries no injury designation into the weekend.

Offensive tackle Jaylon Moore also cleared the injury report after missing last Sunday's game against Seattle because of a concussion.

But Delane's availability remains uncertain heading into Sunday's matchup, with Kansas City potentially needing to adjust its cornerback rotation.
