Kenneth Walker III ignites the Kansas City Chiefs' offense, promising explosive runs and a revamped attack after a shakeup in Kansas City's offensive landscape.

The Kansas City Chiefs appear to be rebuilding their offense in a big way.

The Chiefs watched Hollywood Brown sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, Isiah Pacheco go to the Detroit Lions, and a flurry of defensive players in free agency.

The good news is that tight end Travis Kelce is returning to Kansas City for one more season, and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is back calling plays after some stops elsewhere, including UCLA and the Washington Commanders.

The offense hinges all on the health of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who suffered a torn ACL and faces a tough road to recovery.

The major move so far for Kansas City was signing Seattle Seahawks running back and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to a three-year contract, giving them a much-needed boost to the RB room.

Jeffri Chadiha of NFL.com named some of the best moves of the offseason, and the Chiefs' signing of Walker landed at No. 3 on the list.

"This signing is a major indication that Kansas City head coach Andy Reid is serious about revamping his offense," Chadiha wrote.

Even before the injury to Mahomes, the offense had plenty of issues, and the WR room faced injuries and inconsistent play, and the RB room was hit or miss.

Can Walker bring a boost to the offense? It seems likely.

"The Chiefs were the worst team in the league in 2025 when it came to explosive runs. That should change with Walker in the lineup," Chadiha added.

Walker was electric during his four years with the Seahawks, and he shared the backfield with Zach Charbonnet for most of that time.

So, Walker being the workhorse RB in Kansas City could be a big boost for his usage and his numbers, not to mention having stars such as Mahomes and Kelce on the roster.

The Chiefs' offense could look much different with these changes, and Bieniemy's offense was clicking on all cylinders in his first stint with the franchise.

Yes, Tyreek Hill is gone, although he could return to KC at some point, but Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy are solid wide receivers, and the Chiefs could add a playmaker in the first few rounds of the NFL Draft.

Sure, they paid Walker a good amount of money, especially for a running back, but this will be one of the more pivotal moves of the offseason for a team aiming to make another playoff run.
